    Free fall or drop test is literally dropping an item from a set height onto a defined impact surface to see if it survives without damage or deterioration.

    Evaluate the resistance of a product to a drop while being handled;

    Assess the effectiveness of product packaging in protecting the product from a fall or drop during transportation.

    A typical test will require drops in particular orientations to evaluate the potential for damage arising from impact on different faces, corners or edges.  Impact surface is typically stainless steel or concrete.  Drop height will depend on the product/package, where it will be stored, how it will be carried and transported.

    Drop height can be up to 3.1m (2).

    Bulky or heavy items (up to 454kg) which cannot be accommodated on the drop test rig may be handled using our crane quick release mechanism (2).
